Hilde, how do you get your bangs so...pointy? Seriously. You could stab someone's eye out. |

"This apple is so tantalizing. I could just
look at it forever." Name: Hilde Schbeiker Sex: Female Age: 15 in GW, 16 in EW Weight: From the looks of it, about 15 lbs Height: Uhm...shorter than Duo. (shorter than short!) Duo's 5'2". What a shrimp! Hahahah, I'm like *counts on fingers* five inches taller than he is! Gundam: N/A Distinguishable features: Short, spiky, bluish-black hair, blue eyes, beret (which I wonder about. They say she's German, but then she has a French beret. So maybe she's really French. Mmm...french fries. Mm....trans fat.) Personality: Quirky, spunky, fun-loving, and seriously impulsive. I wouldn't chock her up for being terribly intelligent (at least not so much as Dot or Relena) but I would say she beats them out in the fact that she's had military training and is probably significantly stronger, quicker and more skilled in weaponry. Past: Orphan. OZ. Duo. In that order. Nationality: German....they have good pretzels in Germany, I know, I was there when I was like four....not only that, there's like all these nude people in the parks. I'm not joking. It was weird. It gave me nightmares for quite some time. I was like, "It's getting hot in here (so hot) so take off all your clothes..." Except I was four, and didn't have coherent thoughts yet beyond food and the newest My Little Pony, and also that song hadn't come out yet--ahh, the good ol' days, pre-Nelly. Place of residence: She lives in L2 with Duo, cooking, cleaning and working for that lazy American. In all seriousness...: Let's face it, Hilde makes it out of the series nearly unscathed. I think that what makes her one of the least complex characters in the series...she's impulsive and fun, but she doesn't have "layers" to her personality the way Duo does. I think she's pretty much a surface character--she's perky on the outside, and perky on the inside. She's friendly, good-tempered, funny and nice, with not too many thoughts in her pretty head. She does suffer some injuries at the end of the series, but she's seen, just as good as before, at the end of Endless Waltz. These exterior injuries, however, rate nowhere next to the major internal turmoil that most all of the other primary (Relena, Zechs and the pilots) and secondary characters (Dot, Noin, Po, Treize [except he's um, dead.], etc) face. (Tertiary characters, like Sylvia Noventa and Rashid, don't count, because not enough is known about them to judge their state of sanity.) I like Hilde because no extra analysis goes into her character--she's just who she is, no questions asked. She's impulsive, and she does a few major things with out asking questions (helping out Duo, sneaking on board Libra...) as well as minor things (their circus trip.) Free Style Analysis Humor: Hilde is introduced to the series in Duo: God of Death Once Again, episode 23. She meets him and tells him to try out for OZ. "Count on it, baby, I'll be there." he says, as he stares at her after she turns away in slow-mo. Later, he gives the guy a fake application, she stops him. He throws his bag at her and he escapes in a MS. She goes after him and they fight. He pushes her out of the way when they get fired at. She captures him, they talk, she realizes she, with OZ is a villain . He miraculously gets out of the handcuffs, and blows open an exit and escapes. She courageously follows him and helps him get in the lunar base. After the "Oh, Duo, I will." sentence, Hilde's officer has a "serious problem" with her conduct, and we can only imagine what happens after this. Though she plays a small role, she's also in episode 32: The God of Death Meets Zero. This is her second time to appear, and shows that obviously she was just fired from OZ when she helped Duo. She runs up to Duo who is standing in the street, tells him she's going to help him, and runs off, yelling: "LATER!" He watches her run off. Duo gets Gundam parts delivered and she runs up. He jumps up on the table in the scrapyard, and she says, "Is there anything else I can do to help?? I'll do anything!" He says, "We-ell, I could go for a juicy steak tonight!" (Anything? That's a sexual invitation if I've ever heard it) "Come off it, I'm totally serious!" she tells him. "I know...I know...you're doing more than enough," he responds, when a MS flies up. The man tells Duo to come with him or he'll blow the colony up. Needless to say, Duo goes and then finds himself all wired up on the Wing Zero. When he fights, he hallucinates all sorts of chibi Deathscythes, and little scythes flying everywhere, and finally, he hallucinates firing at the colonies and blowing up Hilde. This one scares the crap out of him. Then...he goes to fight the little insane man that abducted him, Duo in the DS and the man in WZero. "No, Duo! You cannot fight in the state you're in!" yells Hilde from another MS, and he responds, "Don't worry, Hilde, I'm a Gundam pilot." In episode 35, Duo goes to a little meeting and comes back to Hilde patting a Golden Retriever in the park. They sit for a little while, watching some kids play soccer. Duo absently asks no one in particular if they'll ever find the meaning of true peace. She looks at him sort of funny, and he amends, "Was that out of character or what?! Just delete that." Then, she says, as if she really did delete that information, "Hey Duo?" and he says, "What?" "Let's go somewhere really fun," she says, and pulls him off to the circus, where she is fascinated by all the acts. "See? Isn't this fun?" "Yeah. You said it." And 'specially a certain clown. "I could really fall for a clown like that," she says dreamily. "Yeah, right," says Duo uncomfortably. (HILDE! Clowns are scary!) Then Duo realizes that clown in TROWA! In Episode 39, Trowa Returns to the Battlefield, Hilde has gone grocery shopping. She comes back to find Duo talking to two men. He's been discovered, and he explains to her he has to leave. She's pretty mad, as she calmly peels apples. She wants to go with him, and he grabs an apple and begins preaching to her...not the first or last time he'll do so..."Hilde, you've found your niche, why would you want to leave?" Blah, blah, blah. So he goes, and she stands out looking after, him looking pretty darn sad. Poor, poor Hilde. Ha. He thinks she'll just stay put, does he? Well, he's got another thing coming!!! "Signs of a Final Battle," episode 45, was one of the best Hilde episodes ever! Hilde snuck onto the Libra, and hacked through their computer system to get a bunch of important data on a disk for the Gundam pilots and their cause. She also visits with Relena while onboard the Libra, after hearing Relena tell Dorothy she knew a Gundam pilot. Probably thinking it was Duo, and wondering how exactly Duo knew Relena. ("Hilde, it was just a fling! She meant nothing to me, I swear!") She walks up and introduces herself to Relena. They share a soda and Hilde tells Relena what's she's been doing. She offers to take Relena back to the Peacemillion to see Heero, but she declines. So Hilde makes her "getaway" and White Fang sends the Mercurious and the Vayate up there after her!!. She gets pretty smashed up, and she's bleeding everywhere. She screams over the transmission: "DUO!" and he hears her. He knows exactly who it is after the second yell. Wanting to go after her, but unsure if it's safe to leave the others behind, Quatre gives Duo the okay to go find her and Duo leaves without waiting for Quatre to change his mind. Right before our Petite Rebel gets sliced to ribbons by one of the MSes with Trowa or Heero's minds, Duo intervenes and slices THEM to ribbons...their first battle, and they're sliced to ribbons! But that got the White Fang pretty mad! It's amazing what a little guy can do defending his girlfriend!! Duo was furious that she had left the colony L2, and he asked her why the hell she would attempt such a thing. "Because...I wanted to," she responded lamely, covered in blood. She held up the disk, which was soaked in blood. He then called her a stupid fool, and she was taken back to the ship to get some medical attention. I liked that episode...but Hilde doesn't appear again until the end of Endless Waltze. Where she has a five second appearance telling us that Duo went home to Hilde. Hilde is multitalented, and I really like her character. She's one of the few OZ women, and she can pilot Mobile Suits and is trained in combat. Not only having military experience, Hilde also is a great computer hacker and mechanic! She owns somesort of a scrapyard/car repair shop. And she's only fifteen!! She does the shopping and cooking for Duo (while he sits on his butt watching sitcoms, no doubt). While doing all this, she still finds time to attend circuses, close in on Duo, and lead a semi-normal life! Wow! All I do in my free time, is like, eat. She's a nice person and obviously has a soft spot for Duo. She's kind of like the ringleader of the Duo-fan girls. Except they want to kill her, because they love to write fanfics starring themselves as Duo's new love interest and draw pictures of themselves having sex with him. They're jealous partly because she lives with Duo, but mostly because she's a cartoon, and they're not, which means that she still has a better chance of bedding him then they ever will. Hilde Quotes: "I'm prepared to die at any time!" [Hear it] "Duo Maxwell. Who would have thought that you were a Gundam pilot?" "I could fall for that clown." (Trowa, at the circus. Duo follows up with, "Sure, whatever.") "There's no telling who my allies are any more." "Go, Duo, and do what you want to accomplish!" (Does anyone else find this phrasing a little awkward or grammatically redundant? I mean, she could have just said "Go, Duo, and do what you want to!" But then again, that's the pitfalls of having all the teenie boppers drop out of school by the ripe old age of 15 to go to war, join the circus, harp on pacifism, or just laze around as they see fit. Rebel/Warrior was created by SeaShelle in June 2000. It was last updated in June 2005. Rebel/Warrior is just a little character/humor-oriented site about Mobile Suit: Gundam Wing, a Japanese anime by Sunrise and Bandai. This site has no affiliation with those companies. So yeah.
