Oh, we're having a gripe-fest tonight!

The Yaoi Pairs

Heero and Duo (1x2):: "Hehe, I'll make you scream my name more than Relena does in an average episode!" "Wow, that's quite a promise." 

By far, the most popular pair is Heero and Duo, or 1x2/2x1. (Who came up with the little multiplication idea, I don't know. But they must think they're pretty slick.) Yaoi fans figure that Duo's outgoing and happy personality will be good for Heero's grim, withdrawn personality.  They're direct opposites, the pilot of the Wing and the pilot of the Deathscythe, together forever in hot boy lovin' fun. Sounds sweet, doesn't it? (No, it sounds raunchy.) Well, of course. It is. I don't know about the rest of you, but I like it. Even though all the fanfics I've read about these two are something like follows: "Relena wants Heero. So she did stupid stuff and dressed slutty to impress him. Really, he loved Duo though. Relena makes Duo feel sad. Heero kills Relena for the sake of Duo. Then Duo and Heero have hot boy sex."  Which I think are really dumb...but anyway. I like the sweet "shounen ai fics." But, of course, there always are our happy yaoi lemons! These are the stories that contain info on the Heero/Duo relationship that most of us don't want to know about. (Scratch that, everyone wants to know. We get off on it, apparently.) This is, of course, the scary three-letter word containing a "S" an "E" and a "X". Often called, PWP? (Stands for "Plot? What plot?" Applied to stories which are only existent for one thing....loads of graphic citrus.) Both Duo and Heero have a potential mate... Duo's live-in companion and overall spunky girl, Hilde Schbeiker, and Heero's interest, the peace-lovin', flirter-with-death, Relena Peacecraft. I'm not going to get all emotional and rehash all those events described here & here. So, in short, I enjoy yaoi sites, because we all know that they're just using their imaginations. And you know what, tons of fangirls get off on the image of adolescent Duo and Heero's hot bony bodies pressed up against one another...and? What the...did I just hear about eighty billion fangirls' orgasms? ...Deleted. Of course. So why deny yaoists of their fun...and why deny straight-couplists of their fun? Each can have their opinion, and never the twain shall meet. Neither should flame the other for their opinion. On a personal basis, I think that Heero/Relena and Duo/Hilde relationships make more sense...Duo and Heero don't seem to really get along that well in the anime. They become good friends, and contrary to yaoi fanatic-beliefs, there is no evidence at all that Heero and Duo are together. Yaoi animes, from what I've heard, make it really clear when characters are gay. GW has no indications either way, but in my opinion there are straight-love undertones. I mean, Duo shot at Heero when he first met him, but when he first met Hilde, he saved her MS from getting blown to kingdom come (no dirty pun intended.) But then again, this world...this elaborate world of yaoi...has been set up by the Gundam Wing fans, and not the anime, so that doesn't matter. Personally, I have nothing against the Heero/Duo relationship idea, I just think that the Hilde/Duo and Relena/Heero is much more obvious and supported, especially the Hilde and Duo one!!!

Trowa and Quatre (3x4) :: Trowa likes 'em young and quivering.

Ahh, Quatre and Trowa. In my opinion, this one is far more supported and practical than the above. Quatre is a tender-hearted, innocent, kind, and very childish-like. Trowa, on the opposite hand, is experienced (in life, you perverts), practical and quiet. And Trowa and Quatre seem to hold a special bond[age]. (Hehe, yeah, and everyone knows "special" bondage leads to kinky sex) Trowa seems to care for Quatre, and more obviously, vice-versa. After Quatre's father died, and Quatre went ballistic for that time period (scary), Trowa preached to Quatre before jumping in the way of Heero, who was about to attack Quatre, (because Heero is a deranged maniac, and so was Quatre at the time)....then Trowa went hurtling out into space at which point he ejected from his MS and Quatre went searching for Trowa, for like the next twelve episodes. When he finally finds him at the circus, and Trowa doesn't recognize him (Amnesia, for you who didn't see the episode), the poor little guy is fighting tears. (Quatre: Now I have to seduce him all over again.) Trowa comes around soon after that. But then there's the Catherine and Dorothy debate. Fans have assigned most everyone in GW a partner, straight, and a partner, not. Now, Quatre and Trowa could very well just be very good friends with bondage benefits. So there could be love, but it's not broadcasted, and each of them do have a female counterpart...Trowa has Catherine, in episode zero, revealed to be his long-lost sister, but nonetheless could be a romantic interest (mmm...incest. *another collective orgasm* ... What is it with you sickos?!)..okay, so that's even more farfetched then the idea of Trowa/Quatre, but if that's possible, so is anything. And then there's another cool character, Dorothy Catalonia. She's said to be more than a match for Quatre...though they don't get a lot of screen time together...that's okay. Fandom is fandom. Of all the Quatre and Trowa potential pairings, I think these two fit together the best. (And I do (and don't) mean that pervertedly) But Quatre perhaps cares for Trowa more than even he knows...

Wufei x Treize, Wufei x Nataku :: "Time for some young Chinese lovin'." 

OK, Wufei and Trieze? Another debatable one. One that I do not particularly support at any rate whatsoever. Well...we all saw Wufei CRY when Trieze died...i.e., CRIED when HE KILLED TRIEZE. Hm. But Trieze is dead (He's locked in my basement, HA HA) and they wouldn't be in combat together so often if they were gay lovers. Maybe Wufei was by nature Trieze's enemy (well, Trieze was the leader of OZ, and Wufei is a gundam pilot, trying to destroy OZ...) and had to kill Trieze to complete his mission, although he really loved him. A Wufei site that really supports Trieze/Wufei. Hmm...very interesting, even though Lady Une obviously loves Trieze. Considering Wufei is always ranting about how weak women are (mainly because he's a sexist jerk and even Relena could kick his ass) maybe he doesn't love women (or they all hate him, the sexist jerk) and since he can't get a woman (except Merian, but she *had* to marry him, because if given the choice, I'm sure she would have ran screaming) maybe he wants Trieze, who is, uhhh, not a woman. (I guess not, at least. He could be. Wonder if Une knew that? If she did, does that make her a lesbian, and Wufei NOT gay?) *dusts off hands.* NEXT!

OK, Wufei and Nataku?!? Wufei and his GUNDAM?! I don't quite see how this could happen...and if it did, it wouldn't be yaoi, it would be insane! And it couldn't be yaoi, because in episode zero, it reveals Merian, Wufei's wife. One of the strongest woman warriors ever, Merian was thought to be the reincarnation of Nataku, a Chinese warrior. A certain battle left her mortally wounded and as she lay dying, Wufei told her that maybe she really was Nataku. And then she died ::sniff sniff::. (Obviously, even though Wufei loved Merian, he's still a sexist bastard, and Merian needed to beat him more often.)...so anyway, he names his Gundam Nataku after Merian. How sweet. Too bad he doesn't exhibit that inner sweetness. And he talks to his Shenlong (but then, the other pilots talk to their gundams, particularly Duo and Quatre), so maybe he feels like he's talking to Merian. How precious. Even though he blows Nataku up at the end of Endless Waltze, he still loves it. Hehe.

Back to Wufei and Trieze, it's not happening. Wufei and Sally Po are much cuter together, and as for Trieze, who cares, he's dead! And good thing, too. He was annoying.

Zechs and Trieze :: "I'll show you my Lightening Baron..."

Trieze has both Wufei AND Zechs?!...fortunately both ideas are pretty far out there. We know that Trieze was definitely involved with Une, and of course there's Mariemeia, his daughter, who had to come from SOMEPLACE... As for Zechs, what about Noin?? We see that Zechs and Trieze share a bond, especially during the early episodes of Gundam Wing, where they are both on OZ and Trieze talks about Zechs and him being homies and that sort of thing. And it would be cute, but Noin and Une kinda get in the way. Kinda a lot. hehe. And then there was that pivotal part in the plot where Zechs and Trieze were going to KILL eachother, you know, when Zechs and Dorothy took over White Fang and Triezey was still with OZ. I think Treize is convinced that he's too genteel to take it in the ass. But I'll let you be the judge of that. (Hey! "Trieze-y" rhymes with "crazy." Coincidence...?)

The Yuri Pairs

Relena and Dorothy :: "Miss Relena, can you get any better (in bed)?" 

Relena and Dorothy. This is weird, isn't it, besides the point that Dorothy majorly sucks up to Relena, there's no other standard information here. Dorothy: "Miss Relena, can you get any better?? Now I'm even more of a fan!" Relena: "I don't have time for your flattery right now, Dorothy." Except Relena can't stand Dorothy. Otherwise, this would be a sexy, sexy pair. Mmm..hot Psycho loving. Ever noticed how Relena gets an edge to her voice when dealing with Dorothy?? Oh, you didn't? You don't analyze every single detail? But why not?! Oh, you have a life?! Well, don't get smart with me. I have a life too. It just primarily contains heavy Gundam Wing analysis.

But don't feel bad, Dorothy, I think you're cool.

Sally Po and Lucriezia Noin :: "At least we're both of age." 

This one doesn't make much sense either, specially since Noin admits she likes Zechs in like episode 16. They were both on the same team and they're both 19 year old females, and there was that one episode where Noin helped Sally Po...but like I said, they're just friends. But if you really want to know what I think, I'll tell you. I think they were just friends, not in love or anything, but they had lesbian sex a lot whenever they were hanging out with the G-boys trying to save everyone. Oh, wait, that was never featured in the show, so I guess it didn't happen. (What! You mean the Gundam Wing cast are just animated characters, AKA not REAL?!) Yes...that's exactly what I mean. The big factor here is that it's sooo obvious Noin only has eyes for Zechs. (Sally: Drat. Does that mean I'm stuck with Wufei?? SeaShelle: No, Sally! Run while you still can!) Maybe Zechs is just Noin's big cover-up...?

Hilde and Catherine :: "Oohhh, baby, that's right...that's good....Wait a minute...do I even know you??"

Look! At a GW women site, I saw a big fic about Catherine/Hilde. First I said "Huh? Catherine and Hilde? Do they even meet throughout the series besides when Hilde sees Catherine (but doesn't notice her, only notices Trowa) at the circus?" My second thought was My second thought was, "HA HA HA DUO, YOU'RE NOT THE ONLY ONE WITH A GAY COUNTERPART! EAT YOUR HEART OUT!" Mature, I know. My third thought was, "This would be cute, except for one little thing. I would support this pairing except for one thing. It'll come to me. Hmmm....OH YEAH. I HAVE AN ENTIRE SHRINE TO HILDE AND DUO, BECAUSE HILDE AND DUO ARE IN LOOOOVE! But I guess this pairing makes sense, I mean, Hilde and Cathy are two of the most overlooked characters in the entire show. And Cathy's single, since Trowa is apparently her brother. (they get too close to be sibs for my liking, but hey...)...but anyway, yeah. I think they'd actually be really compatible, based on their personalities. Hilde and Catherine are both young girls who've put up with hardships and worked through their difficulties to find their niches (Both are supposedly orphaned, Catherine supports herself by working at the circus, Hilde joined the army to support herself, and then later works a scrap yard). I think Catherine would be very dominant and possessive (She's Scorpio, I know she is) and Hilde would be more relaxed and laid-back. (I bet she's a Capricorn.) ...I'm into astrology, can you tell? NEXT!

Relena and Lucriezia Noin :: "You're even better in bed than your big brother!"

Now Noin is a pretty big protecter of Relena's Sanc Kingdom, but that doesn't mean squat, right? Well, Relena and Noin have some interesting doujinshis together, but that's about it. Especially since Relena was chasing Heero most of the time Lucriezia was around. And there is the age difference factor, but I guess if Wufei can be with Trieze.....
Really though, it's the age difference that makes this pair unsettling. However, the two seem to get along, but I really don't think Relena is a lesbian, personally.

The Straight Pairs

Relena and Heero :: "I will kill you." "Ohhh, Heero, I love it when you talk dirty to me!" 

This relationship would be so different from the open, jovial relationship of Hilde and Duo. It would probably be colder, distanter, (due to Heero's social personality...*ahem*...),..aww, screw it. click here...You know, Relena is either an Aquarius or a Leo...and Heero is in a Zodiac all his own.

Hilde and Duo :: "Duo, I got discharged from OZ for you! The least you could do is give me a lil' something-something!"

Dorothy and Quatre:: "Quatre, I'm glad we have such a tender relationship." "Miss Dorothy--" "SHUT UP! Lick my boots, or I'll beat you again!" "...Yes ma'am."

(Cool image...when realization dawns on Dorothy that Quatre's the strategist on the Gundam side and Quatre realizes Dorothy's the mastermind behind White Fang.)

This is a fun like this pairing! I mean, Quatre and Dorothy would be perfect. Sooo many people completely misjudge Dorothy, calling her "evil" and "scary" and "blood thirsty." Nooo, nooo, Dorothy's just been raised by that Dermail dude. And he's the "evil" one. Look at Dorothy, at the end of the series. After she stabbed Quatre, she was sooo sad. This 16 year old girl that manages to single-handedly control a fleet of mobile dolls! Dorothy is definitely one of the most complex, kind, emotional and admirable characters in the series. She's more than a match for Quatre, if I do proclaim so myself.  Whiny flamers say: "She stabbed Quatre!!" And I say: "Hey, she was just showing him who wears the pants in that relationship!!" While I think Quatre is better suited with Trowa, I think this is a fun pair nonetheless. Dorothy is a (un)stable, hard-headed young woman, and I think her upbringing would interfere with her ever being able to form a successful relationship. Not that she needs one. I kind of imagine her as marrying, and then stabbing her husband to death, and taking his fortunes. Hey, politics is dirty. 

Catherine and Trowa :: "You want me to throw the whipped cream pie? ...I can think of an even BETTER use for all of this whipped cream."

Now this one is very debated. In episode zero, the manga, Catherine is revealed to be Trowa's long lost sister. But perhaps they don't know that, because Catherine says, "I don't want to lose him. Trowa's like a brother to me." If he's LIKE a brother, then that probably means that they wouldn't be in a relationship anyway. Oh well. Fans still tend to pretend, and write lots of fanfics about these two circus freaks and their undying love. 

Une and Trieze :: "Sleeping with you is like sleeping with two women!!"

This one is probably the most factual. Une and Trieze definately had something for eachother (Milliardo, Wufei and now Une! Trieze has a lot of options) even though Trieze is dead now (He's locked in my basement. HA! HA!). Mariemeia will probably be adopted by Une, and Trieze even says in one of the episodes, "Her [Une's] feelings for me is causing her to have split personalities." And she saves him near the end of the episodes from a blast from Libra. Definitely a pair, but I hate Treize, so therefore think Une (even if she is a schizo) could do better.

Lucriezia Noin and Zechs Merquise/Milliardo Peacecraft :: "I'm not putting out until you put the mask back on."

Another obvious one. Noin admits she likes Zechs, and she would have been the TOP student at the Victoria academy if she hadn't have stepped aside so ZECHS could be the top student. That aggravated me. I was throwing all movable objects at my television set when they were talking about this. AND in the last couple episodes, Noin totally blows off the Gundam team -HER TEAM- so that she won't fight Milliardo...she just stands by and says, "I'll defend you no matter what yadda yadda." ZECHS YOU UNGRATEFUL WORM! And at the end of the series, Happy Heero comes back and Zechs is supposedly dead and Dorothy is paying respects to Trieze's grave (Why did she like him so much anyway?!) because Trieze is dead (He's locked in my basement HA! HA!) and Dorothy says "Hey Noin, what's your deal? You were totally in love with Mr. Milliardo and you're not paying him any respects! What the cheese is up with you?!" (Well, that's what she says...indirectly) and Noin looks at the sky, and says, "Dude, Dorothy, I don't pay any respects 'cause I have this weird feeling that Zechs is still alive...either that, or I SEE DEAD PEOPLE!" (Well, actually she says something like, "'Cause I don't have to. I know Zechs is still alive out there, somewhere.") AND WHAT DO YOU KNOW?~ She's right! And in Endless Waltz (Endless Waltz is awesome) Zechs tells Noin she doesn't have to stick with him and submit herself to all of this if she doesn't want to, and she says something like, "I'll always stand by you no matter what." And then, at the end of EW, Zechs is like, "Noin you don't have to---" and Noin is like, "Zechs don't make me repeat myself!!!" And they zoom off together. I hate this couple, even though it's evident. I think Noin should shoot Zechs and become a lesbian.

Sally Po and Wufei :: "Can I dip you in soy sauce?" "ONNA!"

Sally Po is probably about four years older than Wufei, but that's the least of this couple's worries. Oh well, if anyone can put Wufei in his place about his current "Anti woman" thing, it's Sally. Besides potentially working together, they've been together from time to time throughout the series. Personally, I think Sally should beat the crap out of Wufei a few times and then just see what's what. And if Sally and Wufei do eventually marry...good luck, Sally.

Now for something completely different

Hmm.. if I was the Gundam guru, I would definitely make some changes, for starters, Wufei and Treize would be wiped clear off the face of the ..uh, universe.....but anyway...if I were to change the yaoi pairings, I would say that Wufei and Duo are good....but then, Heero and Trowa are good too...but what about Quatre?? Well, I'd say Heero and Wufei, and Trowa and Quatre...and Hilde and Duo. Hehe! Or, Trowa and Quatre, Zechs and Wufei, Duo and Hilde, and Relena and Heero! Ehehe! Or how bout Zechs and Dorothy. Oh wait, her IQ is a zillion and one points above his. She'd get bored with his dumb blonde, "Huh?" response to everything she says. "Uhh! I pretty boy! Worship me!" "Do I look like Noin to you, bastard? Kiss my boots!" ...anyway. Catherine and Quatre! No...Dorothy and Catherine! Or Trowa and Dorothy. Relena and Trowa! Une and Wufei! Trowa and Tuberov! ::where'd that come from?!:: Lt. Noin and Quatre...oh, that's cute. But really, I think that Heero and Trowa would be cute...they just sit and stare at each other, making little or no conversation and just saying strange phrases every so often like, "i was lost since the day i was born." That's why Heero needs Relena (or Duo?!) to make conversation and he can just nod from time to time. Same with Trowa. Trowa is a clown of no words. Or...okay, think you've had enough SeaShelle thoughts for one day. But I'm a fan, so I can make up whatever I want, right?

Well, that's it...now that you know the pairings, make your own desicions. And you can always start your own ideas of who should be paired with who....Actually, no, no you can't. If you do, prepare to be flamed for eternity.
